An exhibition of portraits
Thursday 24 October - 6 January

Celebrating the inspiring individuals who have made an impact on Nottingham’s LGBTQ+ community, OUR QUEER FUTURES: Notts LGBTQ+ Heroes, is a series of portraits captured by Nottingham based photographer Katie Bishop as part of Queer Up Duck! and presented by JOP Arts and City Arts.
Those featured in this exhibition were nominated through a public vote for their dedication to championing equality, inclusion and visibility, helping to make Nottingham a more accepting place for everyone. Whether its championing trans inclusivity, archiving the city’s queer history or entertaining in a glamorous frock and heels, these individuals deserve the status of Nott’s LGBTQ+ Heroes.
Join us as we honour these local icons, recognising their contributions to Nottingham’s rich LGBTQ+ history and the ongoing fight for equality. Step up to the window and witness the faces behind the movement – the everyday heroes whose courage and advocacy make Nottingham a city to be proud of.
You can view the exhibition in City Art’s Window Gallery for FREE across the festival.
